Crash Into Snow Embankment Leads To DWI Charge In Hampton Bays: PD
The Flanders man was arrested Wednesday, police say.
HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Flanders man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing into a snow embankment in Hampton Bays Wednesday, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, the crash took place at about 6:40 p.m. on West Montauk Highway.
Further investigation done by officers revealed that Fausto Velasquez Cerrato, 49, was operating in an intoxicated condition, police said.

He was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing; he was charged with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor, and several traffic infractions, police said.
He was held overnight for morning arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court, police said.
