Driver Hits Tree, Hydrant, Telephone Pole In Rollover Crash: FD

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A driver crashed into a fire hydrant, tree, and telephone pole in Hampton Bays Sunday night, officials said.

According to the Hampton Bays Fire Department, the crash took place at 10:34 p.m. Firefighters secured the vehicle and prevented any further fluid spills, officials said.

PSEG "quickly restored power," and the Hampton Bays Water Authority shut down the hydrant, fire officials said.

The driver, the only person in the car, was treated by the Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance Corp; Southampton Town Police Department were also onhand, officials said.
