Drunk Teen Involved in Montauk Highway Car Crash: Police

HAMPTON BAYS, NY - A Hampton Bays teen driving drunk was involved in a car crash early Monday, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, Nelvin Ramos, 18, was arrested at 1:42 a.m. on West Montauk Highway and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, as well as multiple traffic infractions, police said.

Ramos, police said, was involved in a two-car motor vehicle accident. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to the hospital for minor injuries, police said.

Investigation at the scene revealed that Ramos was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition, police said.

He was arrested at the scene, transported to police headquarters for processing, and held for morning arraignment, police said.
