Earth Day Celebration Coming Soon In Hampton Bays
The event takes place on May 4 at Good Ground Park.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — Southampton Town is set to host an Earth Day Festival in Hampton Bays.
The festival will take place on Saturday, May 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Good Ground Park, located at 9a Squiretown Road.
The fun kicks off with a holiday tree dedication at 11 a.m.; the tree will be donated by a local nursery and will lighted each year as part of the winter holiday season, town officials said.

At 11:30 a.m., participants are invited to go on a nature walk along the park’s walking trail, sponsored by the Southampton Trails Preservation Society and the Audubon Society.
At noon and again at 1 p.m., visitors can learn about composting from a master gardener. Also, at 1 p.m., there will be a yoga class for adults and children; participants will need to bring mats.

Next, at 1:30 p.m. those in attendance can learn how to care of lawns at an organic lawn fertilizer demonstration.
At 2 p.m., participants can get into the spirit of Earth Day with a ukulele ensemble. A series of demonstrations will include pottery making, how to assemble bath bombs, face painting and exhibits from some eco-friendly vendors, including Surfrider Foundation, Seed Saver Exchange and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County.
The event has a rain date of Sunday, May 5.
