East End Arts Gallery Director Jane Kirkwood encourages artists to submit work that is ’posed or caught in everyday activity, naked or clothed, male or female, human or otherwise, realistic or suggested, front, back or sideways, one or many.

Entries are open to any two-dimensional media, including painting, drawing, original fine art prints, photography, and computer art.

Entries selected by the jurors will be included in the ‘The Figure’ exhibition, scheduled to run from August 7 through September 23, 2015 at the East End Arts’ Gallery, located at 133 East Main Street in Riverhead.

Artists can enter up to five works for $45.

Only original work will be accepted, no reproductions and no ‘appropriated’ elements, unless original artist is credited in the title of the piece.

The East End Arts Gallery is now accepting entries online, which must be submitted by April 7, 2015 or by the late entry deadline of April 14, 2015 for an additional fee.

Artists will be notified of the jurors’ decisions of inclusion in the show on or before June 3, 2015.

If accepted, artists must ship the selected artwork per East End Arts’ outlined shipping instructions, available on the website.

The ‘Best in Show’ award winner will receive a seven-day stay in East End Arts’ Artist Residence near Hamptons’ Museums and Galleries, plus $1,000 cash, and will be a part of a group show at The Peter Marcelle Project, art gallery in Southampton.

The winner will also receive 100 postcards announcing the The Figure exhibition, which will feature the image of her/his artwork.

Last year was East End Arts’ third national show, with many entries from across the U.S., with artists from as far away as the United Kingdom entering into the competition.

Last year’s ‘Best in Show’ was awarded to Juju, a creation in oil on linen by Don Perley of Old Greenwich, CT.
