East End Shelters to Participate in 'Clear the Shelters Day'

Several East End animal shelters will be participating in ”Clear the Shelters Day’ on Saturday.

The event was created by NBC 4 New York and Telemundo 47 as a nationwide push to help get pets adopted.

Hundreds of shelters in the U.S. have agreed to cut the cost of adoption for the one-day Clear the Shelters event.

If you want to adopt on the East End, the following shelters will be participating in the event:

• North Fork Animal Welfare League Southold shelter - located at 269 Peconic Lane in Peconic - will be offering free adoption from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Check out their Facebook page here.

• RSVP Inc. Animal Welfare and Rescue Group - located at The Maples on 10 Ryerson Avenue in Manorville - will be offering free adoption from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Check out their Facebook page here.
