Eight People Arrested During East End DWI Task Force

The task force took place during the holiday weekend from Saturday, May 23 to Sunday, May 24.

Eight people were arrested on DWI charges during Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office East End DWI Task Force, hosted by the Southampton Town Police during Memorial Day weekend.

The Task Force consisted of 10 members from the Southampton Town Police Department, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department, the Southampton Village Police Department, the East Hampton Town Police Department and the East Hampton Village Police Department.

The roadside checkpoint took place between Saturday, May 23 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, May 24 at 4 a.m.

The checkpoint took place on Montauk Highway near Flanders Road in Hampton Bays from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. during which, 327 vehicles were screened resulting in four arrests for driving while intoxicated and two arrests for marijuana possession, police said.

After 11 p.m., saturation patrols were used throughout the Town of Southampton where another 38 vehicles were screened and another four DWI arrests were made, police said.

According to the police report, the follow eight people were arrested:

  • Carlos Mesa Sanchez, 38, of Hampton Bays - DWI
  • Pablo J. Perez, 35, of Westhampton Beach - DWI
  • Lamar S. Wilkinson, 36, of Hampton Bays - DWI (2nd offense)
  • Andrew John Kull, 61, of Manorville - DWI
  • Arlene Morse, 62, of Hampton Bays - DWI
  • Victor G Rojas-Perez, 36, of Hampton Bays - DWI
  • Maria T Silfa-Peralta, 36, of Westhampton Beach - DWI (2nd offense)
  • Lauren Whitely, 26, of Hampton Bays – Aggravated DWI (BAC of .18 or more and 2nd offense)
