'Erratic' Driver Tailgates, Honks, Hits Another Car: Police

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A "reckless, erratic driver" was arrested in Hampton Bays after hitting another vehicle, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, the incident began on Penny Lane in Hampton Bays at 2:56 p.m. when a call came in from a motorist who said the "reckless driver" was following close behind and honking; that driver then struck the caller's vehicle and attempted to flee, police added.
Police located the second vehicle near the Ponquogue Bridge, arrested Kason Andre Robinson Sunley, 22, of Hampton, Virginia, and charged him with second-degree reckless endangerment; operator leaving the scene with property damage; and third-degree criminal mischief, authorities said. He was also issued a summons for driving without a license, police said.

He was transported to the Southampton Town Police Department, processed, and released for a later court date, police said.
