Fire Breaks Out In East Quogue Home

EAST QUOGUE, NY — A house fire broke out in East Quogue Tuesday, police said.

The active house fire was reported at about 1:57 p.m. at a home on Bayside Avenue, Southampton Police said. No injuries were reported, officials added.

Southampton police and the East Quogue Fire Department responded; additional volunteer fire departments from Hampton Bays, Quogue, Riverhead, Flanders and Southampton were called in to assist and the Westhampton War Memorial Ambulance also responded to stand by, police said.

The fire was extinguished and deemed non-criminal, police said.

Southampton Town fire marshals and Southampton police detectives were also at the scene; the fire marshals are continuing the investigation, police said.

Bayside Avenue was closed briefly due to the heavy presence of emergency vehicles, police said.
