Firefighters Extinguish Blaze At Hampton Bays Home

A neighbor initially saw smoke coming from the home, firefighters say.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — Firefighters extinguished a blaze at a Hampton Bays home Friday, officials said.

The fire broke out at 1:47 p.m. at a residence on E. Argoone Road, the Hampton Bays Fire Department said.

Hampton Bays Fire Department Chief James Kappers went inside and saw visible fire from the corner of the second floor; the fire was extinguished within minutes and contained to one room after an "aggressive interior attack" within minutes and was contained to the fire room, firefighters said.
