Firefighters Have Fun, Build Confidence, During Dodgeball Drill
The goal was to imbue confidence and familiarity with gear while still having fun, officials said.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — The fire department that plays together, stays together: Recently, members of the the Hampton Bays Fire Department participated in a drill that not just a learning experience, but a team-building experience for all.
The drill topic was "work hard, play hard, mask confidence dodgeball," officials said.
The premise, according to fire officials, is that sometimes you need to have fun while building confidence and familiarity with gear.

Each firefighter had two self-contained breathing apparatus bottles during multiple rounds; when they were "out," they were rescued by fellow firefighters.
"This was a great time for Chiefs, officers, firefighters and probationary members to build camaraderie, have some fun and get a little training in," the fire department said.
