Forklift Operator Trapped, Pinned In Hamptons: Officials
He was airlifted for treatment, officials say.
HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A forklift operator sustained serious multiple injuries in an industrial accident in Hampton Bays Friday, officials said.
A forklift near Hampton Beverage on E. Montauk Highway rolled over at around 10:30 a.m., pinning the operator, a 69-year-old Hampton Bays man, under the roll cage, Southampton Town police said.
The Hampton Bays Fire Department performed heavy rescue, the Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance Corps crew treated the patient and then, transported the operator to Hampton Bays High School, to be airlifted by Suffolk County Police medevac helicopter for treatment, officials said.

The East Quogue Fire Department was called in to secure the landing zone for the helicopter, officials added.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Southampton Town police detectives are investigating, authorities said.
