Hampton Bays Grads Return To Teach Students About College

It's never too early to start thinking about college.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — It's never too early to begin thinking about college. That's why alumni returned to the Hampton Bays middle school recently for its 10th Annual College Awareness Day.

The event, held on Jan.3, brought together 8th graders and formers students now attending college.

Organized by guidance counselors Lorie O’Halloran and Jessica Sears, the 8th graders gained insight and perspective into college life; the alumni answered questions about their college experiences and discussed the typical college schedule, admissions process and extracurricular offerings, the district said.
