Hampton Bays High School to Host Interactive Panel Discussion With Broadway Theatre Professionals
The panel will take place on Monday.

East End Arts’ Teeny Awards Program presents an interactive panel discussion featuring Broadway theatre professionals, “Listen Carefully… Is Broadway Calling?” that will take place next week.
The event will be moderated by Broadway Producer Thomas Joseph Farrell (award-winning smash hit BEAUTIFUL The Carole King Musical).
The discussion will address key questions students, young professionals and theatre enthusiasts have regarding a career in theatre.

Attendees will learn:
- How to prepare for a career in the arts;
- Planning education and building skills sets for aligned career tracks;
- Gain knowledge from panelist experiences, including key moments and challenges.

- Tina Andrews, Award-Winning Playwright, Screenwriter and Director – best-known for writing and Executive Producing the CBS miniseries Sally Hemings, An American Scandal, Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis, and the Warner Brothers film Why Do Fools Fall In Love.
- Eric Mark Olson, Producing Artistic Director & Founder, Three Act Theatre Company / AEA Actor – has worked as stage director, choreographer and educator for numerous children’s and adult professional plays and musical theatre productions in NYC and around the country, and is also a book writer, playwright and lyricist.
- Wade Preston, Singer and Songwriter – best-known for his role as the piano man in Billy Joel’s Broadway hit Movin’ Out.
- Kim Sherman, Composer - is equally at home in musical theatre and opera, her incidental music has been heard on Broadway (“I Hate Hamlet”) and in many regional theaters throughout the United States, including The Shakespeare Theatre (D.C.), Center Stage (Baltimore), The Acting Company, Yale Repertory Theatre, and The Guthrie.
“We are thrilled to be providing this opportunity for local students as well as young theatre professionals and theatre lovers to get a deeper look at a career in professional theatre,” Pat Snyder, Executive Director of East End Arts said. ”It’s not every day that you get to hear directly from the mouths of award-winning Broadway professionals on their experiences.”
The event will be held Monday, March 9 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hampton Bays High School auditorium, located at 86 East Argonne Road in Hampton Bays.
Students will receive free admission to the event (must present student ID) and adult tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
The program is sponsored by Suffolk County National Bank and Empire National Bank, and is part of East End Arts’ Teeny Awards program, the East End high school theater recognition program, founded and run by East End Arts since 2002.
