Hampton Bays Kids Explore Area's Agricultural Roots
It was a trip to the farm for local Hampton Bays Elementary School students recently.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — Living amidst rural abundance, some East End schoolchildren recently got the chance to learn firsthand about the area's deep agricultural roots.
Hampton Bays Elementary School first-graders recently visited the Suffolk County Farm and Educational Center in Yaphank, the district said.
During the hands-on field trip, the students learned about the animals that reside on the farm. In addition to feeding and touching the animals, students took a tractor ride, tried their hand at milking a wooden cow and gained insight into the roles insects play on the farm, the district added.
