Hampton Bays Mom Drove Drunk To Pick Up Her Child From School: Police

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Hampton Bays mom drove drunk to pick up her child from elementary school, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, Danielle Cordone, 41, was arrested at 3:10 p.m. in her vehicle outside Hampton Bays Elementary School by members of the police department's community response unit.
Several tips came in regarding Cordone possibly picking her child up from school intoxicated, police said. She was drinking alcohol in the car, police added.

Community response officers investigating the incident located Cordone and found that she was, in fact, driving under the influence; she was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, first offense, a misdemeanor, aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor , and drinking an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, a violation, police said.
Cordone was transported to Southampton Town Police headquarters for processing and was held for morning arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court, where she was released on her own recognizance, police said.
