Hampton Bays Scouts Pay Tribute To Fallen On Memorial Day Weekend
Scouts learned about honoring the lost this weekend during emotional tributes.
HAMPTON BAYS, NY — Boy Scouts from Troop 483 in Hampton Bays paid solemn tribute to the fallen this Memorial Day weekend.
According to Scoutmaster Allen Schneider, Scouts in Troop 483 placed flags on hundreds of veterans' graves in three different cemeteries. They placed about 300 flags on graves in Good Ground Cemetery on Thursday evening and also on the graves at the East Quogue Cemetery, he said.
On Saturday morning they placed flags on several hundred veterans' graves at Calverton National Cemetery, he said.

And on Monday morning the Scouts marched in the Hand Aldrich Post 924 American Legion parade in Hampton Bays, "to pay our respects at the memorial ceremony at the cemetery," Schneider said.
