Hamptons Motorcyclist Charged With Felony DWI: Police

Someone called police about his "reckless and erratic" driving, authorities say.

WESTHAMPTON ,NY — A Hampton Bays man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated Friday after he was reported for his "reckless and erratic" driving, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, Justin M. Jones, 52, was arrested at 5:49 p.m. on W. Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays after someone reported his driving. He was stopped on foot, arrested, and taken to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital for medical treatment prior to being taken to Southampton Town police headquarters for arrest processing, police said

Jones was charged with felony DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, and several traffic violations, police said.

He was held to appear in Southampton Town Justice Court at morning arraignment, police said.
