Hamptons Road Rage: Man Menaces Motorist With What Appears To Be Handgun, Police Say
The road rage incident took place on Sunrise Highway Tuesday morning, police say.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY — An East Quogue man was arrested after menacing a motorist with what appeared to be a handgun Tuesday morning, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place at 8:36 a.m.; a motorist on Sunrise Highway called and said someone had menaced them with the apparent handgun during a road rage incident, police said.
Southampton Town police and New York State police searched the area and were able to locate the vehicle involved in Hampton Bays, police said.

The operator of the vehicle, Dominic Paul Stewart, 25, was found to be in possession of an imitation handgun and was charged with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, as well as fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor, police said.
Stewart was transported to Southampton Town police headquarters for processing and was subsequently transported to Southampton Town Justice Court for arraignment, police said.
