"It is true that after 51 years of making memories, the Boardy Barn property is now listed for sale with JLL," owners Tony Galgano and Michael “Mickey” Shields said. "We are amazed to see the amount of interest. More importantly, we'd like to say 'thank you!' Words could never convey how grateful we are to our loyal customers, friends and family from over the decades who make The Barn such a special place. All of that said, in the words of Yogi Berra, 'It ain't over 'til it's over.'"
A Facebook post by the Boardy Barn on Sept. 15 read: "The Boardy Barn is now closed for the season. The summer of 2021 went by fast! We want to thank all our wonderful customers that came to the Boardy Barn during the summer of 2021. You made our summer a very special one, and we all had a great time. Memories were certainly created this summer . . .Think about the summer of 2022!"
In 2020, the community came together in a big way to help a beloved partner in the iconic Boardy Barn who was battling health issues and the impacts of the pandemic. A GoFund Me, "Tony Galgano, Partner At The Boardy Barn, Needs Us," was created by Tom Cannuscio of Hampton Bays.
