Intoxicated Man Crashed Into Hampton Bays Home: PD

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Hampton Bays man was arrested Wednesday morning after he crashed into a home while intoxicated and refused to stop, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place at 6:24 a.m., when Juan Carlos Infante-Yanza Panta, 39, was seen driving a motor vehicle north on Ponquogue Avenue after crashing into the side of a private residence.

Police attempted to stop Infante-Yanza Panta, but he refused to pull over; he eventually stopped in front of the Hampton Bays Library, police said.

Infante-Yanza Panta was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DWI, leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage, a violation, and several other violations of New York State vehicle and traffic law, police said.

He was taken to Southampton police headquarters for arrest processing and held to appear in Southampton Town Justice Court for arraignment, police said.
