On November 14, the members of the freshman and sophomore classes gathered to honor the athletes of the fall freshman and junior varsity teams. Awards were given for most committed, most improved, and most valuable athletes on each team.
The Bernie Ward Commitment Award goes to an athlete who told the coaches that she has a “never-ending love for volleyball.” Her actions verified this statement. This young woman showed resilience and tremendous personal growth. Emmie Koszalka played every position which we placed her in with hunger and passion. Not once did Emmie ask why she was being moved…she simply played her part for the betterment of the team. In all ways, Emmie showed commitment- at practice, in the classroom, and in matches Emmie shared her never-ending love for the sport with everyone in her circle. Congrats Emmie!
