Kindergartners Celebrate Thanksgiving, Focus On History
The kids learned about Native American history and culture.

WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — Westhampton Beach Elementary School kindergartners celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday with a history lesson.
Students in Lynn Marshall’s class learned about American history and the life and culture Native Americans, a release from the district said.
"As part of the multifaceted lesson, students made Native American vests using their cutting, beading and stitching skills and painted turkeys," the release said. "The lesson culminated with a classroom Thanksgiving feast that included local fruits and vegetables, popcorn, cranberry sauce, apple juice, corn bread and apple and pumpkin pie."
