LI Motorcyclist Dies In Sunrise Highway Crash: Police
The man was thrown from his motorcycle and died instantly, police say.
WESTHAMPTON, NY — A motorcyclist died in a crash on Sunrise Highway near Westhampton Saturday, police said.
According to New York State Police, the crash took place just after 3:30 p.m. in the eastbound lane, just east of County Road 111, when Donald Ellers, 64, of Patchogue, who was driving a 1984 Harley Davidson, left the roadway.
Ellers' motorcycle continued in the center median, striking the guide wire, where he was thrown from the motorcycle and was killed instantly, police said.

New York State Police are asking for any witnesses or anyone with information regarding the crash to call 631- 756-3300.
