Local Youth To Participate in Bake Off

Think your creations can rival the Cake Boss? Here's a chance to show off your baking skills.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — Ever since "Cake Boss" became wildly successful, a younger generation has gotten fired up about baking.

And now, the Southampton Town Youth Bureau will host a baking contest, "Bake Yourself Happy", for students in grades 5 -12 on Saturday, April 29, at 3 p.m. in the Hampton Bays Community Center, located at 25 Ponquogue Avenue.

The theme of the event is spring, with categories including cupcakes, muffins and cookies; entries will be judged on consistency, flavor and presentation by notable bakers Simon Jorna of Beach Bakery, Southampton Town Councilwoman Christine Scalera, and others, a release said.
