Man Arrested After Displaying Knife During Dispute In Hampton Bays: Police

He's facing a felony charge, police say.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Hampton Bays man was arrested after displaying a knife following a verbal dispute, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place on April 1 at about 6:04 p.m. on W. Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays.

Officers were dispatched to the location after a report of a dispute, police said. Upon arrival it was reported to responding officers that a verbal dispute had occurred in the parking lot at that location, culminating in a subject displaying a knife at another as he was attempting to drive away, police said.

Officers canvassed the area and located Michael Muesch-Gambino, 35, who'd left the scene on a bicycle, police said.

Following an investigation, Muesch-Gambino was arrested and charged with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, police said.

He was taken to Southampton Town police headquarters for processing and held for arraignment, police said.
