Man With BB Gun Threatens Patrons At Hampton Bays Business: Police

A caller reported a man with a gun at a Hampton Bays business Sunday, saying he was "going to kill everyone," police say.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Hampton Bays man was arrested after he threatened people and displayed a BB gun Sunday at a local business, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, the incident took place at 5:28 p.m. on West Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays. Mario Garnica, 29, waved a gun, determined later to be a BB gun and said that he was "going to kill everyone", while in front of his minor child.

Garnica was arrested and charged with second-degree menacing and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors, police said. Garnica was processed at Southampton Town Police headquarters and issued an appearance ticket to appear in court at a later date, police said.
