Man Charged With Assault Punched Someone At Boardy Barn: Police

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Kings Park man was arrested after he punched another patron in the head at the Boardy Barn Sunday, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, the incident took place at 8:20 p.m.; Matthew A. O’Farrell, 22, was arrested and charged with third-degree assault, police said.

Boardy Barn security detained O’Farrell until police arrived, police said. The person who was punched was transported to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital for treatment of his injuries, police said.

O’Farrell was processed at Southampton Town Police headquarters and released on an appearance ticket for a later date, police said.
