Man Charged With DWI After Hampton Bays Crash: Police

He struck a utility pole early Friday, police say.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Hampton Bays man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after a single-car crash early Friday, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place at 4:17 a.m. when Travis Flynn, 25, was driving west on North Road in the area of Oakhurst Road in Hampton Bays and hit a utility pole.

Flynn was determined to be intoxicated, arrested, and charged with misdemeanor DWI, as well as a traffic violation, police said.

Flynn was taken to the Southampton Town police headquarters for arrest processing and held to appear in Southampton Town justice court at morning arraignment, police said.
