Man Charged With DWI After Hampton Bays Crash: Police

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Riverhead man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after a crash in Hampton Bays Saturday night, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the crash took place at 8:32 p.m. on Bellows Pond Road. Etzon Cabrera-Samayoa, 39 years, left the scene after the crash, police said.

Cabrera-Samayoa was located a short time later, found to be intoxicated, and transported to Southampton Town police headquarters for processing; he was held for morning arraignment, police said.

Cabrera-Samayoa was charged with misdemeanor DWI; aggravated DWI; leaving the scene of a crash with injury, misdemeanor, and an equipment violation, police said.
