Man Charged With DWI After He Cuts Off Police Car At Light: PD
The incident took place in Hampton Bays Friday, police say.
HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Riverhead man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he cut off a police officer on a Hampton Bays roadway, authorities said.
According to Southampton Town Police, the incident took place on Friday at 7:29 p.m. when Santiago Corderosumba, 36, failed to yield right of way at a red light. He pulled out in front of a police sector car, causing the officer to stop abruptly to avoid a collision, police said.
His vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Montauk Highway and Bellows Pond Road in Hampton Bays, where Corderosumba was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DWI, as well as failure to yield right of way, drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway, and unlicensed operation, all infractions, police said.

He was taken to Southampton Town Police headquarters for processing and was released on and appearance ticket for a future court date, police said.
