Man Charged With DWI After Trying To Leave Hampton Bays Crash: PD
He tried to make an illegal U-turn and leave the scene of a Hampton Bays crash Sunday morning, police say.
HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Hampton Bays man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he tried to leave the scene of a crash Sunday morning, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, the incident took place at 9:11 a.m.; police responded to a call regarding an "erratic" driver in the vicinity of Wakeman Road and Fanning Avenue in Hampton Bays, authorities said.
Edwin Soliz Soliz, 27, was seen making an improper U-turn and leaving the scene of the crash; he was stopped and found to be intoxicated, police said.

Soliz was arrested and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor; second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor; operating a motor vehicle with no license; leaving the scene of an accident with reportable damage; and making an improper U-turn, police said
He was transported to Southampton Town Police Department Headquarters for processing and held overnight for morning arraignment, police said.
