Man Charged With DWI, Menacing People With Airsoft Rifle: Police
Police were called after a man was believed to have a gun at a Long Island restaurant but he was later found to have an airsoft rifle.
HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Riverhead man was arrested after he pointed what was first thought to be a gun at two people at a Hamptons Bays restaurant early Sunday, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, a 911 call came in at 2:09 a.m. about a person with a gun at La Fogata restaurant on Montauk Highway who damaged a vehicle, then pointed "the gun" at them before fleeing in a blue van, police said.
Police located the vehicle, which pulled in to Saint Rosalie’s Church parking lot in Hampton Bays, authorities said.

The driver, Pablo Aguilar, 32, was found to be in possession of an airsoft rifle, which appeared to be real firearm; he was also found to be intoxicated police said.
Aguilar was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a felony; second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor; second-degree criminal mischief, a felony; and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor, police said.
