Man Charged With Felony DWI In Hampton Bays: Police

The Riverhead man was driving with a revoked license, police say.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Riverhead man was arrested and charged with felony driving while intoxicated in Hampton Bays Saturday, police said.

Edgar V. Corte=Guartatanga, 43, was seen heading west at 5:47 p.m. on Flanders Road near Old Riverhead Road and failing to maintain his lane, Southampton Town Police said. During a traffic stop, authorities found that he was driving with a revoked license, police said.

He was arrested and charged with felony DWI and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and issued summonses for traffic violations, police said. Corte-Guartatanga was processed at Southampton Town police headquarters and held for morning arraignment, police said.
