Man Dies After Crashing Into Manorville Woods Friday: Police

MANORVILLE, NY — A Bellport man died after crashing into the Manorville woods Friday, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place in the westbound lane of the Long Island Expressway near Exit 69 at 5:41 p.m.

Julio Borges, 32, was driving a 2007 Volkswagen westbound in the westbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway when he lost control and drove into the woods on the side of the road, police said.

Borges was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
