Man Found Sleeping In Vehicle Charged With Felony DWI: Police

The vehicle was parked partially in the roadway, police say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A man was arrested after he was found asleep in his car, intoxicated, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place Friday at 12:14 a.m. when an officer on patrol saw a 2006 Honda Accord parked partially in the roadway on Flanders Road near Spinney Road.

Edwin I. Soliz Soliz, 28, of Hampton Bays, was found asleep in the vehicle, which was still running, police said. Further investigation revealed that he was intoxicated; he was transported to Southampton Town police headquarters, where he was charged with felony DWI; second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor; circumventing an interlock device, a misdemeanor; and several violations of vehicle and traffic law, police said.

Soliz Soliz was held overnight for morning arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court, police said.
