Man Seriously Hurt In Manorville Rollover Crash: Police

The crash took place Friday afternoon, police say.

MANORVILLE, NY — A Mastic Beach man was seriously hurt in a single-car crash in Manorville Friday afternoon, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place at 4:30 p.m. on Barnes Road near Moriches-Middle Island Road.

John Boocock, 26, was driving a 1997 Jeep Cherokee northbound on Barnes Road when he lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway, police said. The vehicle then struck a fire hydrant and overturned, police said.

Boocock was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries, police said.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check; anyone with information on the crash is asked to call the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
