Man Sexually Abused Child Over Several Years: Police
He was also charged with being in possession of a firearm, police say.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY— A Hampton Bays man was charged with sexually abusing a child over a several year period, police said.
The Southampton Town Police Department's detective division arrested Robert Weis, 55, and charged him with one count of first degree course of sexual conduct against a child, a felony; and three counts of criminal possession of a firearm, a felony, police said.
Weis was arrested after Southampton Town detectives, with the assistance of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, conducted an investigation into allegations that Weis sexually abused a "young victim" over a several year period; the investigation led to Weis' arrest, police said.

Weis was held at Southampton Town Police headquarters for arraignment on Friday in Southampton Town Justice Court.
