Man Stabbed During Hampton Bays Fight: Police
He was slashed on the face and sustained a puncture wound to his chest cavity, police say.
HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A man was stabbed during a fight in Hampton Bays Thursday, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, at about 2:24 p.m., a report came in about an active physical fight on the sidewalk on West Montauk Highway, involving two people.
Responding officers arrived to find one of the two had fled the scene, heading westbound, police said.

A second male remained at the scene and was suffering from what appeared to be stabbing-related injuries; he was slashed on the face and sustained a puncture wound to his chest cavity, police said.
The Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to the scene and brought him to a local hospital, where he is being treated for what was are believed to be non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Southampton Town police detectives responded to the scene and are investigating, police said.
