WESTHAMPTON-HAMPTON BAYS, NY - From the Westhampton Beach School District: Westhampton Beach Middle School students now have the opportunity to sample foods from around the world as part of a new lunch initiative.
On Oct. 18, the district rolled it out its “Around the World” lunch kiosk that provides students with culinary dishes from China, Japan, Italy, Grease and Mexico on a rotating basis.
“We thought it would be great to introduce students to different types of foods,” said Assistant Superintendent for Business Kathleen O’Hara. “They can customize and choose what they want to eat.”

The choices are offered to students along with the district’s regular menu created by Nutrition Services Director Naim Walcott. It includes healthy options such as a salad bar, complete with fresh lettuce, grilled chicken, tuna salad and various beans as well as sandwiches featuring Boar’s Head products. Looking to the
future, the district also plans to offer fruit smoothies.
