Parrish Art Museum To Host Family Day

The event will take place on Sunday starting at 1 p.m.

The Parrish Art Museum, the Children’s Museum of the East End, and The Watermill Center invite families to create and collaborate at a multifaceted program of art, music, and dance on Sunday, Nov. 9 through their Family Day event.

The event, which is free with museum admission, will take place at the Parish Art Museum, on 279 Montauk Highway in Water Mill.

Artists Steven and William Ladd, whose special exhibition just opened at the museum, will be creating colorful textile scrolls with children from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In addition, Bash the Trash, will be working with kids on building and playing instruments.

Starting at 1 p.m. in the Parrish Lobby, El Colegio del Cuerpo, a contemporary dance group, will perform excerpts from a new work in progress titled “Flowers for Kazuo Ohno”.

The performance will include the opportunity for kids and families to move with the dancers and discuss El Colegio del Cuerpo’s presence in Colombia during a movement workshop and conversation to follow the performance.
