Pedestrian Struck By Jeep In East Quogue: Police

No charges were filed, police say.

EAST QUOGUE, NY — A woman was struck by a Jeep in East Quogue Friday night, police said.

The incident took place just after 6:30 p.m when the woman, 83, was hit by while trying to cross the street, Southampton Town police said. An 18-year-old from Hampton Bays who was driving a 2012 Jeep hit the woman; she sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital, police said.

The driver of the Jeep stayed at the scene to speak to officers; no charges were filed, police said.
