PHOTOS: Spring Construction Pops Up on Dune Road
Some 10 homes are under construction on Dune Road.
As the weather warms and Memorial Day approaches, construction workers were at full throttle on Dune Road this week, readying homes for the season.
Workers were spotted, hammer and nails in hand, installing new siding, roofs, porches and even building several new million dollar homes.
Contractors represented along the stretch of road that runs from Shinnecock to Westhampton Dunes and was created during the 1938 hurricane, included Elderco, Inc., ABC Custom Designs, Jason Kinge Contracting, Brett Marascia Construction and Zizzi Construction.

Brett Marascia, owner of Brett Marascia Construction, of Riverhead, said his crew is working at 712 Dune Road in West Hampton Dunes upgrading a home with a new roof and larger second foor bedrooms.
He says the stagnant economy hasn't effected his 12-year-old business and says his construction sign has already garnered him two more jobs on Dune Road.

While many businesses are struggling through the economy, Marascia says he managed to maintain his construction company mainly through word of mouth and by mainly focusing on vacation homes.
"People who have vacation homes want to improve their homes no matter what. They want it to be perfect," he said. "It's a show piece to them."
Marascia says he has also adjusted his prices and ensures that he maintains relationships with clients, personally meeting with them at anytime and returning every call he gets.
