Police: Hampton Bays Man Arrested After Entering Home, Destroying T.V., Threatening Occupant

The man fled briefly before returning to the scene, police say.

A Hampton Bays man was arrested after entering a home, destroying a t.v. and threatening the occupant earlier this month, according to Southampton Town Police

Police responded to the report of a prior criminal mischief at a Hampton Bays residence on Saturday, July 11, police said.

Upon arriving, officers were advised that Steven J. Boyd, 27, entered the home, destroyed a flat screen television and threatened the occupant, police said.

Boyd initially fled before returning to the scene to turn himself in, according to police.

He was transported to Southampton Town Police Headquarters where he was charged with third degree criminal mischief and third degree menacing, according to police.
