Police: Hampton Bays Man Breaks Into Fire Department With Shotgun, Injures Himself
The incident occurred at the East Quogue Fire Department early Tuesday, police say.

A Hampton Bays man broke into the unoccupied East Quogue Fire Department with a shotgun and injured himself in the process early Tuesday, according to Southampton Town Police.
Police were called to the fire department, located at 465 Main Street in East Quogue, where they found 29-year-old Shawn Stockert, who broke several glass doors and windows while inside, at about 12:20 a.m., police said.

Stockert injured himself while breaking the doors and windows, police said. He was treated and released from the Peconic Bay Medical Center Hospital.
Police arrested Stockert at the scene and charged him with third degree burglary, second degree criminal mischief and third degree possession of a weapon.
