Seal Rescued in Montauk to be Released This Sunday

The rescued seal is set to be released in Hampton Bays.

Ivy, the harbor seal rescued in Montauk in November, is set to be released on Sunday, Jan. 25, according to the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation.

Ivy was rescued back on November 18, 2014 in Montauk with respiratory congestion and seal pox.

She has been fully rehabilitated and is ready to return home.

Pending official approval, the group plans to release her this Sunday at 2 p.m. at their normal release site in Hampton Bays, under the Ponquogue Bridge.
