Soup, With Love: Students Give Back To Address Food Insecurity
Hampton Bays High School Key Club members worked with the Kiwanis Club of Southampton to feed the needy.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — Soup can nurture in times of need — and a caring group of Hampton Bays High School students worked with the Kiwanis Club of Southampton to help feed the hungry who are struggling with food insecurity.
Members of the Hampton Bays High School Key Club recently helped the Kiwanis Club by preparing 90 quarts of soup, the district said.
The Kiwanis kicked off the project earlier this year by partnering with 50 volunteers to meet a pledge to stir up some soul-satisfying soup for the nonprofit Heart of the Hamptons. With the Key Club’s help, they provided 820 quarts, the district said.

The effort was overseen by Southampton Kiwanis Club chapter members Scott Wilson and Jamison Wilson and previous Southampton Kiwanis President Rachel Foster; the initiative was spearheaded by chapter member Delaney Oser, who is chef/owner of Thyme & Again Catering, the district said.
The goal was to feed the portion of the community affected by food insecurity while bringing together a group of volunteers, the district said.
