HAMPTON BAYS, NY — Three Hampton Bays High School sophomores showcased their musical talents recently, performing in the Suffolk County Music Educators’ Association’s prestigious East Division III All-County Music Festival.

According to the Hampton Bays Union Free School District, Emma Halsey (band), Nellie Nicolova (chorus) and Rieve Nydegger (band) were selected based on their "outstanding" performances at the New York State School Music Association Solo Evaluation Festival last spring and teacher recommendations.

Leading up to the festival, the students rehearsed for more than 13 hours during the two prior weekends at Connetquot High School. The SCMEA concert was held at Ward Melville High School and was the first local festival to be held in-person since March 2020.
