Students Wow Renowned Author With First-Rate Book Reviews

Congratulations to all the winners, who received Fire tablets for taking part in the challenge and writing book reviews!

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — Hampton Bays middle school students who wowed a renowned author were rewarded for their talents — they won Amazon Fire tablets.

The students embarked upon book review challenge with author Jerome Mark Antil, who visited the school on May 22.

For the challenge, the kids wrote book reviews based on Antil’s books “The Pompey Hollow Book Club” and “Hemingway, Three Angels, and Me," the district said.

Winners included sixth-graders Emma Halsey, Elizabeth Lin and Maya Sanabria; and eighth-graders Stephen Sutton and Julia Romero Sanchez, the district added.
