Teeny Award Nominations Announced

Nine local students up for awards.

The East End Arts Council has announced its 2011 Teeny Award nominations for theatrical productions put on by East End high schools.

The nominations, according to the arts council, were made by a panel of judges that evaluated the students on skill, delivery and stage presence.

From Westhampton and Hampton Bays, nine local students were nominated for awards, which will be given out at ceremony on June 5 at Westhampton Beach High School.

In Hampton Bays, Susan Nygard was nominated under the outstanding performance category for her role in the production of Grease.

In Westhampton Beach for the production of Is He Dead, Vincent Cinque was nominated for lead actor in a comedy; Kaela Murphy was nominated for lead actress in a comedy; and Aidan Marsicovetere, Bret Tucker and Christian Thienel were all nominated for supporting actor.

For the production of Guys and Dolls in Westhampton Beach, Vincent Cinque was nominated for lead actor; Gina Arfi under the category of Choreography; and Lane Davenport under the category of Playbill/Poster Art.
